Some useful tips you should keep in mind:
Read all information sent by your Issuer Bank, including terms and conditions in your Cardholder Agreement.
Sign the signature panel on the reverse of your card the moment you receive it. Make a list with the account numbers of all your credit and debit cards and keep it in a safe place other than your purse, wallet or handbag.
Never reveal any personal information when you use your card.
Memorize your personal identification number (PIN). Never reveal your PIN to anyone, and do not use the same number for all your cards.
Always ask for a transaction receipt when making a purchase, since most receipts have your account number printed on them.
Before you sign the transaction receipt, verify the card number and purchase amount to ensure they are correct.
Keep your transaction receipts and compare them to your monthly statement.
Always review your statements to make sure they do not show any unauthorized transactions. If you do not recognize a purchase or find any other discrepancy, call and write your Issuer Bank immediately.
Notify your Issuer Bank immediately if your card is lost or stolen. Report the theft or loss of your card to the Bank via phone and in writing as soon as possible.
Destroy your credit or debit card upon expiration. Your Issuer Bank will replace it timely.
Prepare a monthly budget and do your best to stick to it. Control card use to adhere to your budget.
